Join us for a Henna Design by Monica
Henna is a form of temporary body art that lasts roughly 1-3 weeks and takes about 15-30 minutes to dry once applied.
Monica Srock got her first henna tattoo at the Michigan Renaissance Festival and fell in love with them, especially for the pleasant smell that the henna paste has. She has been doing casual henna for her friends with the henna kits you can buy at craft stores until about 3 years ago where she started experimenting making her own henna paste in larger quantities and researching more on the henna plant itself.
There are many benefits to using henna. Many people use it as a hair dye and for overall hair health as it strengthens it, preventing breaking and increasing shine. It can also be used to ease arthritis pain and headaches because of its anti-inflammatory properties, treat skin conditions such as eczema and burns and speed up the healing of wounds, it can help reduce fevers, regulate blood pressure, to improve nail quality, and as a detoxifier, improving spleen and liver health.
